Small Groups are a vital part of spiritual growth. If you would like to know God in a more personal setting, you can join one of our Care Cell Groups. This is a small group where members meet every week to study God’s Word together and pray for each other. You may choose a care cell group that meets in the area where you live.

A smooth rock, a reason and a season
The little rock lay hidden in the brook. Much water has flowed over it, sometimes clear and sometimes muddy. Many wild beasts who came to drink off the brook, may have trampled it underfoot. It rubbed against the other little rocks that surrounded it. None saw it. None took note of it.
Then one day, the sweet Psalmist of Israel came to deliver food. More like the Uber today, he was bring his valiant brothers who were at war, food and drink. This ruddy boy, David, then saw Goliath, who was challenging the mighty armies of the God of Israel. Oh, he could not, surely, ignore that gentile challenging the armies of God?
Israel army cowered in fear. Goliath was attired in heavy armor from head to toe, leaving a small space on his forehead for his one eye.
David bent low, and picked up five little rocks from the brook, including that little forgotten rock. By the time it came to David’s hand, it was a mighty weapon.
See, sometimes, we just have to latch on to that core-calling of our life. We may be hidden for a season, jostled by the many stormy winds, rough edges of our character smoothed by the buffeting winds, or difficult relationships. We still have a purpose left for us to achieve. One purpose. Just like that little rock was created just to fell a Goliath, do you know that our core-calling in life is to grow into the measure and the stature of Jesus Christ? All of life’s incidents, events and relationships, shape us into that shape. A high calling indeed!
